OnePlus shared images of its upcoming OnePlus 15 smartphone in a new Sand Storm colorway on the Chinese social media platform Weibo on Monday, with one image displaying the date Oct. 27 on the device's screen.
The images depicted the OnePlus 15 from multiple angles and highlighted design elements including a fiberglass back with a silky texture and an aerospace-grade Nano-ceramic Metal midframe with slightly curved edges. OnePlus stated that the frame uses a high-voltage plasma process to apply a ceramic coating, making it 3.4 times harder than aluminum and 1.3 times harder than titanium.
The company confirmed a global launch for the Sand Storm edition but did not specify a date. OnePlus has not officially announced the Oct. 27 date, which analysts interpret as a likely debut in China. The device will feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and a display with 165Hz refresh rate.
OnePlus officials were not immediately available for further comment on the launch timeline. Additional specifications and pricing details are expected ahead of the potential Oct. 27 event.
