The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has uncovered that many madrasas in Madhya Pradesh are imparting Islamic education to Hindu children. NCPCR Chairperson Priyank Kanoongo disclosed that out of 1,755 registered madrasas in the state, 9,417 Hindu children are enrolled. Kanoongo has strongly objected to this practice and urged the Madhya Pradesh government to rectify the situation immediately. He emphasized that the act under which the Madhya Pradesh Madrasa Board was established clearly defines madrasas as institutions for Islamic religious education and that they fall outside the purview of the Right to Education Act.

The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has made a startling revelation regarding the education of Hindu children in Madhya Pradesh. According to NCPCR Chairman Priyank Kanoongo, several registered madrasas in the state are providing Islamic religious education to Hindu children.

Kanoongo disclosed that out of the 1,755 registered madrasas in Madhya Pradesh, 9,417 Hindu children are enrolled. Expressing strong objections, he urged the Madhya Pradesh government to rectify this situation immediately.

He emphasized, "The Act under which the Madhya Pradesh Madarsa Board came into existence defines madrasas clearly, stating that they should impart Islamic religious education. Section 1 of the Right to Education Act excludes madrasas from the purview of the Right to Education Act."

This revelation has sparked a debate on the appropriateness of Hindu children receiving Islamic education in madrasas and the need for regulatory oversight.
